Been hearing about how lemons are helpful for health lately, so finally looked some questions up.
Q: How long do cut lemons last?
A: A couple days in the veggie drawer, or a couple weeks well-wrapped in the freezer. Or if you feel like spending money, you can get a "citrus storer" for a week of fridge life. Whatever method though, if it turns brown or slimy, technically shouldn't use it.
What that means to me: If I want to have drinks with cut lemon slices or lemon juice, that's one lemon every 2 or 3 days....not very cost effective when lemons are currently 75 cents in the grocery store...
So that lead me to another question...
Q: Is "Real Lemon" any good?
A: Depends on your taste buds if you pick up the preservatives or not. Some people don't like it cold, some people like the concentrated little yellow lemon bottle, others like the reconstituted original green bottle, but all agree that you still get the health benefits from lemons.
What that means to me: If I want to buy into the health thing, go for a bottle of "Real Lemon" product, since it's apparently the equivalent of 21 fresh lemons, juiced, and therefore more cost effective. And as I recall, I don't hate the taste...
